In an unnamed village, animals are regularly found with severed legs. This puts the small community in turmoil. While some villagers believe an old cruel legend, the village policeman tries to solve the case, without success. The murders pile up and with them the distrust of the villagers. The series of murders comes to a bitter end when disaster strikes at the village festival.
